Account Status

Public
Default setting: By default, the account profile is set to “Public.”
Privacy: Public accounts are listed in the central CRYPE contact directory and can be searched by any CRYPE user.
Communication: Reachable by other users via messages (C-Mails) or video conferences.

Private
Optional setting: registered users have the option to set their account to “Private.”
Privacy: Private accounts are not visible or searchable in the CRYPE directory.

Communicating with a private account: Although the account is set to private, it is still possible to contact public accounts via C-Mail or video call. However, the private account does not appear in the global CRYPE contact directory, so other users cannot see it.

Bidirectional communication: Once contact is established via C-Mail or call, the entry automatically appears in the chat tab, enabling mutual communication. Both parties can then initiate calls or send C-Mails. If both users have set their accounts to “Private,” one of them must temporarily switch their account to “Public” to establish the first contact, e.g., by sending a C-Mail. After the initial contact, the user can set their account back to “Private.”

Organizations Status
Privacy options: For organizations, there is an additional privacy layer available alongside the fully private account option, which can be used for departments or members.
Specific settings: Organizations can configure their accounts as follows:

  • Visible to members of the same organization: Limits search and communication to members within the organization.
  • Visible to users within the same department: By default, restricts interactions to members of the same department.

Closed community: These options allow organizations to form a closed community. Members within an organization or department can search for and communicate with each other. However, CRYPE users who are not part of the organization or department have no access to these members. All communications depend on specific permissions granted by the organization’s user management.

The system ensures flexibility, privacy, and control over visibility and interactions within the CRYPE community, adapting to the needs of both individual users and organizations.
Guest Access in CRYPE

Temporary username: Guest access is granted with a temporary username. If the name is already taken, a different one must be chosen.
One-time use: Guest logins are intended for single sessions and, unlike officially registered accounts, are not linked to a permanent user identity.
Privacy guarantee: When using a temporary guest account, no communication data is stored on the device.

Important note: In line with CRYPE’s commitment to privacy, no information from your guest session is stored. If you need data from your session, please save it manually before ending the session.
